Kenzi & steven
Kenzi and Steven had such a gorgeous backyard wedding - even with all of the rain! But as they say, rain on your wedding day means good luck! Kenzi kept her wedding small and got ready with her closest family members and friends in her childhood bedroom. For her first look, she chose to have it be with her dad and gifted him the sweetest and most sentimental tie that she had made just for him. Watching his emotions as he unwrapped the gift was just the most precious thing!
Luckily, the rain held off for the ceremony portion of the day and only started right around the time of the reception. We were able to take some absolutely amazing portraits of the couple and they suggested taking some at their favorite Wrightsville Beach bar - Jimmy's. I was so down for this as were all of the bar patrons hanging out in Kenzi and Stevens favorite spot - the big open window. These portraits are some of my favorite portraits I have done at a wedding because they were fun, creative and something special for this couple. I genuinely love incorporating moments like this into every couples day.
Even though the weather wasn't the most ideal, this couple weren't bothered by it one bit because they knew the day was about so much more than the weather. Their love for each other was shining that day even though the clouds persisted!
